Meet The Staff . Directions To SW PA AHEC

The AHEC mission is accomplished through the following activities:

  1. Facilitating the recruitment and retention of primary care providers in underserved communities through education and training programs.
  2. Developing an education and communication network to provide consultation, technical assistance, education, and other professional support for community based primary care practitioners.
  3. Increasing the number of individuals from minority and underserved communities and populations who enter primary care and allied health professions.
  4. Evaluating and addressing public health needs of communities within and among the regions, and providing innovative multidisiplinary responses to those needs.

The Southwest Pennsylvania AHEC serves the following counties within Pennsylvania: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland

Funding:
The Pennsylvania AHEC Program receives funding from the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration’s Bureau of Health Professions, as well as from the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Bureau of Health Planning.
