AHEC is offering "Essentials Of Precepting" at the Holiday Inn Washington-Meadowlands on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2009. This workshop focuses on the elements of teaching health professions students in a community setting that can make it a rewarding, edifying and efficient experience for both the preceptor and the student.
Participants will gain skills and information to prepare their office and staff for a student, to provide effective instruction and feedback to the student, and to establish realistic objectives for the student and preceptor alike. Health professionals who attend this workshop will also learn tenets of adult education and techniques to help the student build on existing knowledge.
